Lipstick Feminists

I’m eighteen and a senior in high school. So today, in my Journalism class, this little freshman boy said aloud that it’s ridiculous that women want equal rights and also want men to open doors for them. My English/Journalism teacher, being the great person that she is, immediately said that she can open a damn door by herself and doesn’t need a man to do that. She also has everyone call her Ms. instead of Mrs. because she feels as if it is no one’s business to know if she is married or not, and I admire that, so I call my other women teachers by that too. And today I found out that she purposed to her husband herself! That is so cool. She also chose to not have children and has been very successful and happy in life. I really look up to her and am happy to have a feminist role model in my life.☺ -silver-zebra
